Day 4- Surrender
Day 4 – Surrender
Scripture: Romans 12: 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Devotion:
Surrender is one of the hardest and holiest acts of faith. Human nature teaches us to hold tightly to control, to protect our plans, and to resist uncertainty. Yet the Kingdom of God often works in the opposite direction. Throughout Scripture, fire falls not on what is hidden away for safety, but on what is willingly placed upon the altar before God. God moves powerfully through surrendered hearts.
Romans 12:1 reminds us that worship is not confined to songs, sermons, or church buildings. True worship is the daily offering of ourselves to God—our dreams, fears, struggles, ambitions, and even our disappointments. A “living sacrifice” means choosing, day by day, to trust God more than we trust ourselves. Surrender is not giving up on life; it is giving our lives fully into the hands of the One who created us and loves us completely.
Many of us want God’s direction while still controlling the destination. But transformation often begins where control ends. Peace comes when we stop carrying burdens we were never meant to hold alone. God does not ask for perfection before surrender; He simply asks for willingness.
Prayer:
“Lord, I surrender fully to You. Teach me to trust Your will above my own. Take my fears, my plans, and my burdens, and shape my life for Your glory. Amen.”
Serving Focus:
Release control in one area of your life today and intentionally trust God with the outcome
