Day 14- Joy
Day 14 – Joy
Scripture:
Galatians 5:22
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.”
Devotion:
Joy is one of the clearest signs that the Holy Spirit is at work within a believer’s life. Unlike happiness, which depends on circumstances, joy is rooted in the presence of God. Happiness comes and goes with success and failure, gain and loss, comfort and hardship. Joy remains because it is anchored in Christ.
The early Christians experienced joy even in persecution. Paul wrote about joy while imprisoned. Why? Because joy is not the absence of suffering; it is the confidence that God is present and working through every season. The Spirit reminds us that our hope is secure, our sins are forgiven, and our future is held in the hands of Christ.
When the fire of the Spirit burns within us, joy becomes more than an emotion—it becomes a testimony. A joyful believer shines light into dark places and offers hope to weary hearts. If your joy feels distant today, remember that God has not moved away from you. Draw near to Him in prayer, worship, and gratitude. The Spirit delights in restoring what has grown weak.
Prayer:
“Lord Jesus, restore the joy of my salvation. Fill me with Your Spirit and help me to rejoice in Your presence regardless of my circumstances. Let Your joy become my strength today. Amen.”
Serving:
Bring joy to someone today. Offer an encouraging word, make a phone call, send a note, or perform a simple act of kindness that reminds another person they are loved and valued.
