Day 25 – Kindness

Scripture:
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." — Ephesians 4:32

Devotion

One of the clearest evidences of the Holy Spirit's work in a believer's life is kindness. In a world often marked by anger, impatience, and self-interest, kindness shines like a flame in the darkness. It is more than being polite or pleasant. Biblical kindness is a deliberate choice to treat others with the same grace, compassion, and mercy that Christ has shown us.

Jesus demonstrated kindness everywhere He went. He touched lepers others avoided. He welcomed children others dismissed. He forgave sinners others condemned. Even from the cross, He extended mercy to those responsible for His suffering. His kindness was not dependent upon how people treated Him; it flowed from who He was.

The fire of God softens hard hearts and transforms harsh words into healing ones. When the Holy Spirit fills us, kindness becomes more than an occasional action—it becomes part of our character. Sometimes the greatest acts of kindness are simple: a listening ear, a handwritten note, a phone call, a word of encouragement, or a small act of service.

Kindness has the power to open doors that arguments cannot. It reflects the heart of Jesus and reminds others that they are seen, valued, and loved. Every act of kindness becomes a spark that can ignite hope in someone else's life.

Today, ask God to make you an instrument of His kindness. Let His fire warm your heart so that His love can flow through your words and actions.

Prayer

"Lord Jesus, thank You for Your kindness toward me. Forgive me when I am impatient, harsh, or indifferent to others. Fill me with Your Spirit and shape my heart to reflect Your compassion. Help me see opportunities to encourage, serve, and bless those around me. May my words and actions reveal Your love today. Make me kind, just as You have been kind to me. Amen."

Serving

Do something thoughtful for someone today.

It may be a note of encouragement, a small gift, a phone call, helping with a task, or simply giving someone your full attention. Ask yourself: "How can I reflect the kindness of Christ to someone today?"

Reflection

  • Who has shown Christ-like kindness to me recently?

  • How has God's kindness changed my life?

  • What opportunity is God giving me today to bless someone else
